Old Business:

·         Study Group for Photoshop  - On hold until determination of alternates for lap tops and discussion for scheduling with Camera Mart.  Photoshop disc workshop is a very good course that explains in great detail.  Art will talk with Bill Buchanan & Judy Yaker to see how soon we can get this going again.

·         Updated Membership lists –Need to have current membership lists from all clubs except Shutterbug, Livonia, Grosse Pointe, & West Oakland please email to wbolio@sbcglobal.net

·         Virtual Salon – Dennis Sauvé at the Windsor website is looking for test entries. Use web address www.windsorcamerclub.com/DISOP to get to location for entering samples for test.  You need to use the entire web address listed..

New Business:

·         Rick Sammon Seminar – GDCCC will host a seminar featuring Rick Sammon on 9/24/05.  This is not expected to cost the council but we are responsible for getting the site and advertising.  Rick has sponsors to help with expenses.  He is a Popular Photography photographer who does workshops, including digital.  Website www.ricksammon.com .  More information may be available at mentorseries.com also.  We will check on handing out flyers at club banquets.  We may also offer e-tickets to help reduce costs as well.  Loretta Williams and Anita Weiner have done e-tickets for previous seminars.  We need to verify any costs up front.

·         Adray Show – Susan Brown will check to find out when the show will be set up and if GDCCC will have a booth.  Is there a value to the clubs for gaining membership?  Last year’s location was poor.  It could be possible to have an unmanned booth and put out flyers.

·         Photoguild Seminar – will be 4/16 at Henry Ford Community College with Tim Grey – Digital Guru presenting.

·         Digital Competitions – Format is growing enough to impact the number of slide entries.  We need to move forward with the virtual salon.  PSA is starting International digital competition.  4 clubs are also starting digital competitions, Motor City, Photo Guild, West Oakland, & Pontiac.  Motor City has offered to let any council club member enter digital in their competitions.  See their website for directions.  Photo Guild is competing every other month.  Bill Buchanan, the Pontiac EID, Susan Browne, Dennis Sauve, and West Oakland EID directors need to determine standards for intercouncil competitions.  Clubs are seeing many new members who shoot only digital.  We may need to create separate digital divisions, i.e. color, nature, as entries grow.

·         Mentor lists – Windsor has developed a mentor list of specialties for people who want help..

·         Club Websites – Some clubs without websites are looking for help from clubs with websites to develop their own sites.

Next Meeting:  Thursday, March 31, 2005

Meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Kathy Bolio, GDCCC Secretary
