GDCCC Board Meeting

Date:  February 28, 2011

Place: Judy Yaker's Home

 

In the absence of Mike Florian, meeting was called to order by Larry Diggs at 7:30pm.  There were 2 Officers, 2 Directors, and 6 club representatives present.

 Minutes from Jan. 20, 2011 meeting;  Meeting Agenda;  

 

Officers Reports:

 Secretary:  Minutes from Jan. 20, 2011 were accepted as recorded.

 

Treasurer's Report:

Current balance $7,876;  PayPal $173.  TOTAL:  $8,049.

 

 Director's Reports:

 Prints:   First print comp held at West Oakland on February 24.  Next comp at PhotoGuild on             April 25.

 

DPD:      First Digital comp held at Grosse Pointe on February 8.  Upcoming digital comp at     Toledo on March 28.                  

 

Web Status:  No special report.

 

Salon:            Discussion on upcoming Salon.  Mike Lillis advised he gave the program disk to                             Dennis and also recommended having the Salon on a different website.  Need to                             contact Dennis and schedule a date.

 

Old Business:

 

Banquet:  150 people purchased tickets.  Flood lights for prints were also purchased for $281.

 

Seven Ponds:  We welcome new member club, Seven Ponds, to GDCCC.  They will only be participating in digital competitions.

Tamron Programs:  Doug Locke has not heard back yet from Tamron regarding their programs.

 

Emergency Notice Listing:  No report.  Bev handling.

 

                                              

New Business:

 

Submission of Prints:   Clubs need to be reminded to send in their winning print images after each competition. 

 

Also, a vote to allow a color print to be eligible for the monochrome division unanimously passed.

 

Increase Digital Entries:  Discussion has been ongoing regarding increasing digital entries.  Concerns were it could create more work for Dennis, and some clubs might not have the extra time when hosting at their location.  Tabled for further discussion.
