Old Business:
· GDCCC Invitational –Jim Campbell is the chairman. Deadline for entries is Friday March 7th. Entries can be dropped off at Moody Williams Printing in Royal Oak. Entries have been slow coming in.
· GDCCC Annual Awards Banquet: 167 people attended the banquet giving us a slight profit on the dinner. Congratulations to Motor City for an excellent job and thanks to Bill Buchanan for his exciting presentation of the winning prints. Bill has agreed to do the computerized slide show for all the winning slides and prints next year as well. The 50/50 drawing was our best yet thanks to Alex Lane. The Medallions were a great success as awards this year. We were also only charged for the medallions we used and did not have to pay for the entire initial order, which will be used at many other competitions over the coming year. Photoguild will be hosting the next banquet as Oakwood does not feel they have enough personnel to do it justice. Plans are already in the works.
·
International Salon – Andy Wims has spoken to a
possible co-chair for the 2004 salon.
All chairs for 2003 divisions are in place. Do we want to make changes for 2004? Possible changes:
o
A) do we want to keep stereo division
o B) do we want create a division to accept digital imaging submitted on line (PSA International is already offering)
Seminars:
· Photoguild – will host a 2-day seminar with George Lepp, March 29, & 30, 2003 at Henry Ford community College, Dearborn, MI. This will replace the annual photographic seminar previously held by Photoguild.
New Business:
· Email Address Update – An email address update has been requested from all clubs to include emails for all officers and directors and any other individuals who should be included in notifications for GDCCC meetings, etc. Send updates to Kathy Bolio – email: wbolio@bignet.net and include “GDCCC emails” in subject line.
· New Seminar – Bill Buchanan is interested in holding a program to show how to create and present a computerized slide show. Time and location are still being determined but will hopefully be in mid-April.
· Photoshop Study Group – A committee has been formed of Alex Lane, Andy Wims, and Joao Silva, to check into starting a photoshop study group to help us learn the many tips and tricks available in this great program. More and more of our members are learning how to print their own work and this will really increase the competition. Locations and times are being looked into.
Next Meeting: Monday April 28, 2003
Meeting adjourned at 8:13 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Kathy Bolio, GDCCC Secretary
