MINUTES: GDCCC GENERAL BOARD MEETING
DATE: MARCH 7, 2000
MEETING PLACE: MOODY-WILLIAMS PRINTING COMPANY
The President, Bill Buchanan, called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. There
were three officers, four directors and 15 Club Representatives (four of those
15 representatives were also officers or directors) present. The minutes from
the previous meeting were reviewed and approved.

Treasurers Report:
- The Treasurer's Annual Report
1999 and GDCCC Financial Report for 1999 Salon were accepted as presented.
Director's Reports:
- Print: New
print director is needed. Alex Lane volunteered to fill the position. Next
competition is March 27 at Photo Guild.
- Color Slide:
Next competition at Oakwood. Room not available until 8:00 p.m. Directions
to be posted on auditorium doors.
- Nature Slide:
Next competition April 17 at Pontiac.
- 2¼ Slide:
No report.
- Electronic Imaging:
Three more slides were entered from Photo Guild. Prints are doing well.
- Newsletter:
Next deadline for entries is April 15.
2000 Awards Banquet:
- Final expenses and income
were included in Treasurer's Annual Report. Thank you's have been sent
out.
- Bill Buchanan is working on
rough draft of banquet protocol and will send a copy to John Slocum for
review.
2000 Slide Invitational:
- 142 entries are going up to
Flint to be judged.
- Trophies have been donated
for 10 1st places. The only cost will be new engraving.
Old Business:
- The second roll-call vote of
delegates (two delegates are allowed per club) required for acceptance of
changes to the Constitution was taken. The vote was unanimous to accept
changes as proposed. Changes to the Constitution have been adopted.
- Clarification on Print
Division Rules to establish viewing distance was discussed. A motion was
made by Clint Ryan and seconded by Doug Locke to accept the changes as
printed. Motion was carried unanimously.
New Business:
- Andrew Wims has replaced Bob
Hart as International Salon General Chairman.
- The 67th Detroit
International Salon of Photography - 2000 will be held Sunday, September
24, 2000 at Oakwood Hospital.
- Selected sites for each

- Judges are still needed.
- A mailing will be sent to all
on the PSA master mailing list.
- Information will be put on
the GDCCC Web Site. Bob Hart will get the form to Howard Parsons for
addition to the site.
- The Adray Show and Sale is
set for May 19-21 at the Adray Ice Arena on Ford Road. No information is
available on speakers yet. Susan Browne volunteered to organize an exhibit
table for council this year. Any volunteers to work the table should coordinate
with her.
- A new score box system is
needed. An RMF scoring system costs about $220. Four clubs are also
interested in replacing their systems. Bill Buchanan will talk to Dick
Frieders at the PhotoGuild Seminar about a possible discount for a
multiple system order.
- Livonia Camera Club is
presenting "An Evening With Monte Nagler" April 13 at 8:00 p.m.
Visitors are welcome.
Next two meetings are Wednesday, April 19, 2000 and
Thursday, May 18, 2000 at 7:30 p.m.
