Minutes:            GDCCC GENERAL BOARD MEETING

Date:                March 12, 2007

Meeting Place:  Judy Yaker’s home

 

President Mike Florian called the meeting to order at 7:33 pm. There were 5 officers, 5 directors, and 4 representatives present.

 

Handouts:

·         Minutes from February 1, 2007 meeting

 

Officers’ Report:

·         Secretary:   Minutes from the February 1, 2007 meeting were accepted and approved.

·         Treasurer:    Current total is $13, 638.67.  Banquet profit was $1178.22.  Signature cards were signed by Mike and Linda.  Club dues are due.

 

Directors’ Report:

·         Prints:

The next 2 competitions are Monday, March 26th at Toledo and Monday, April 23rd at Photo Guild.  Entries need to be in by 7:00 PM and judging needs to start by 7:30 PM.

·         Color Slide:

The next 2 competitions are Monday, April 9th at PPS and Wednesday, May 9th at Motor City.

·         Nature Slides:

The next 2 competitions are Monday, April 9th at PPS and Wednesday, May 9th at Motor City.

·         Digital Projection:

The next 2 competitions are Tuesday, April 10th at Windsor (entry deadline is 04/03/07) and Thursday, May 24th at West Oakland (entry deadline is 05/17/07).  Competitions can start as soon as Dennis is ready and don’t need to wait until 8:00 PM.

·         Web site:

Flash files were uploaded for the EOY 2006 slide shows and all of the 2006/2007 DPD competitions.

 

Old Business:

·         Salon: Ron will send out letters soon asking for 2007 sponsors.

·         Digital Salon:

-          Bill Buchanan will not be able to demonstrate virtual Salon judging tonight.

-          Photo Guild is setting up a PSA Digital Salon for next April.

-          Dennis said to pick a date for a GDCCC Digital Salon for next year.  04/19/2008 was selected.  A GDCCC.org email account will be set up.  PayPal will be used.  Other DP Salons will be checked for divisions, special awards, etc.

 

New Business:

·         Windsor will hold a seminar early in November 2007 -- James Sidney, Tony Sweet and Gary Black.  Friday PM will be a meet & greet and a slide show.  Saturday will be the main presentations.

·         The GDCCC EOY 2007 Banquet will be hosted by Windsor on February 2, 2008.

·         West Oakland is hosting an Orchid shoot on May 25th at the Belle Isle Conservatory and green house.  Cost is $25.  Limit is 30 people.  Contact Linda Henderson.

 

Next meeting: Tuesday, April 24, 2007 (at Judy Yaker’s home).
