MINUTES: GDCCC GENERAL BOARD MEETING
DATE: APRIL 19, 2000
MEETING PLACE: MOODY-WILLIAMS PRINTING COMPANY
The President, Bill Buchanan, called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. There
were 3 officers, 6 directors and 14 delegates present (5 of those 14 delegates
were also officers or directors).

Officer's Report:
- Secretary:
The minutes from the March 7th meeting were reviewed and
approved.
- Treasurer:
The Treasurer's Report was accepted as presented.
Director's Reports:
- Print: The
next competition will be May 4th at Livonia. Al Lane, the new
GDCCC Print Director, will supervise the competition. Judy Yaker will do
the Print Division record keeping.
- Color Slide:
The next competition will be September 28th at West Oakland.
- Nature Slide:
The next competition will be September 25th at Motor City.
NOTE: The "Barred Owl" slide at the Pontiac competition should
have been disqualified because the tresses were showing. The GDCCC Nature
Slide Director will disqualify any similar entries at future competitions.
- 2¼ Slide:
The next competition will be September 28th at West Oakland.
- Electronic Imaging:
The next competition will be September 25th at Motor City. Judy
Yaker will now do the Electronic Imaging Print and Slide record keeping.
NOTE: Judy Yaker is now doing the record keeping for all of
the GDCCC divisions. Judy has entered all of the old records, too. If any club
or director wants a file for their club, contact Judy (preferably via email at xpon@prodigy.net and let her know what format you
need the file in. Her records are kept in Quatro Pro v9.0, but can be saved as
WordPerfect, Excel, or several others, which could be emailed as an attachment
or could be saved to a zip disk.
2000 Slide Invitational:
- 106 slides were judged by
Flint Lensmen photo club.
- A $68 profit was realized due
to the donation of trophies.
- Next year's Slide
Invitational is to be hosted by The Photo Guild.
Old Business:
- Detroit International
Salon: Judy updated the entry form, Skip printed it, and Loretta
sent it out to the foreign entrant mailing list (by boat). Loretta is
waiting for the master PSA mailing list and expects to send out the rest
of the forms in about two weeks.
- Adray Show:
This year's show will be Friday, May 19th through Sunday, May
21st. GDCCC was not represented last year. This year, Susan K.
Browne has volunteered to chair a committee to oversee our representation
at the Adray Show. Susan will resend (email) a schedule for coverage
during the sessions. Volunteers are still needed for each day.
Skip had a copy of the GDCCC brochure that was previously handed out during
the Adray Show. The original cover plate is still available for use to print
updated brochures. Judy will update the inside 2 pages, and Skip and Loretta
will print new brochures.
- New score box system:
Bill talked to Dick Frieders and was able to get a 10% discount if we
order multiple score box systems. Bill will order 5 systems, one for the
GDCCC Print Director and one each for Pontiac, Motor City, Avon and
Shutterbug.
New Business:
- Bill Buchanan is working with
Jim Lyons, of Kodak's Ambassador Program, to get a "sponsored"
program scheduled.
- An "open house" is
scheduled for Sunday, April 30th from 2-5 PM at Judy Yaker's
home (see map handout) to say "good bye" to Barb Facer, the
GDCCC Print Director, and her mother, Lily, who are moving to Texas on May
1st.
- Skip Moody reported that the
"Outdoor Photographer's Association of Michigan" at Saline has
an interesting web site at http://www.opam.com/opam_main_net.html.
