Minutes: GDCCC GENERAL BOARD MEETING

Date:       April 28, 2003

Meeting Place: Moody-William Printing Company

 

The President, Art Thompson, called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm.  There were 4 officers, 4 directors and 8 representatives present.

 

Handouts:  

o        Minutes 3/6/03 GDCCC Meeting

 

Officers’ Report:

·         Secretary: The minutes from the March 6, 2003 meeting were reviewed and approved.

·         Treasurer: $7,91.62 currently in treasury.  $38 profit was received from the invitational thanks to Skip Moody & Loretta Williams for donating trophies.

 

Directors’ Report:

·         Print –Thursday May 1st is last print competition until September.  Monochrome entries have really jumped.  Clubs are starting to get more digital shooters.

·         Color Slide – Next competition April 1.  No more competitions until September.

·         Nature – Next competition September

·         2 ¼ Slides – Next competition September

·         Newsletter Newsletter will go out in May after print competition.

·         Website– Up to date.

 

Old Business:

o        International Salon – Andy Wims and Ron Genaw to co-chair for the 2003 salon.  Applications are available at www.GDCCC.org, PSA Website, and www.exhibitionforms.com.  Discussions are ongoing for changes to 2004 competition.  2003 Salon is underway.  Judging will be September 21st.  Digital prints are legal.

o        Photoshop study group – PSA has videotapes on Photoshop.  Several resources /web sites have been identified.  Photoshop technique information is available by email.  A PowerPoint presentation is available on the Photoguild website.  Possibility of the Activity Center Room with computers for Photoshop.  Andy Wims and Art Thompson will check on availability at Northwest Activity Center.

o        Invitational – There was very poor participation -- only 12-14 prints.  Slides had approximately 30 people participating in 4 different divisions.  It was moved and seconded that the Invitational be dropped due to lack of participation.  Motion was unanimously approved.

 

Seminars:

·         Slide show creation – Bill Buchanan had to delay presentation due to software problems.  Hoping to have available in the fall.

 

New Business:

·         Adray Show – May 2-4.  Council needs volunteers to man a table talking about the various clubs and taking addresses for interested parties.  Judy Yaker will take calls for scheduling.  A slide projector will be available and we should have digital prints as well.  The show will be held at the Civic Center on Michigan Avenue & Greenfield Road.

·         Club Membership lists – We need updated member lists for all of the clubs.  Some club lists are missing altogether.  Please forward to Kathy Bolio – email wbolio@bignet.net.  Be sure to put club name and membership list in the subject line.
