·         Financial Committee: Loretta Williams, Judy Yaker, Anita Weiner, Bill Buchanan, a report was sent last week explaining changes, including streamlining divisions. Revising Rewards - Trophies cost approximately $1000 per year.  May reduce number of trophies to 1st place only with medal for 2nd place, ribbon for 3rd and certificate for honorable mention.  This will not make enough reductions to costs.  We need to review the way we are doing business.  The bulletin is paid for by the people receiving it.  We need greater level of involvement in GDCCC.  Participation by club members is important.  We may need to assess members approximately $3-5 per person for costs of council.  Currently 3 to 4 different levels of club council dues based on size of club.  We need to be paying our own way.  We need to list council income and expenditures.  We need to show what is happening with expenses.  Marketing – members need to see what they are getting for their money.  We need to increase current funds and make funds grow.  We must also determine where we can make cost savings.  It will be necessary to explain need to the clubs.  Financial committee will put together numbers explaining council expenditures and cost saving measures.  Bill Buchanan will email the information.

New Business:

·         Proposal: - John Kroll made the following proposal to modify the annual GDCCC Nature Slide & Color Slide Invitational Competition.  Anita Weiner made the motion to review the proposal & Larry Diggs seconded.  All members are to take back to their clubs.
Proposal Wording:  Modify the annual GDCCC Nature Slide & Color Slide Invitational Competition such that it becomes a 7th Inter-club Competition, where:

·         Options for Discussion:

o        Hold the invitational in late May or June to avoid the normal Inter-club Competitions (January, February and April for Nature Slides and February, March, and April for color slides).

o        Give special awards, such as those given in the Detroit International Salon of Photography (Best Michigan Wildflower, Judges Choice, Best Fishing Photo, etc.).

o        Open up the Invitational to all of the Print Divisions and the 2 ¼ Slide Division too (That could be a lot more $2 entry fees received…)

·         Next Meeting:  Scheduled for Thursday, August 29th.

Meeting adjourned at 9:18 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Kathy Bolio, GDCCC Secretary
