·
Website– is up to date. Clubs need to contact John Kroll with any
upcoming events they are planning or give links for events on the club websites
Old Business:
· Study Group for Photoshop - Held first meeting with small group attending. They found the CDs to be very informative and easy to follow. We will begin the group in earnest this fall and will start at the beginning of the CDs to accommodate new attendees. We are checking on availability of Camera Mart for Saturday September 11 and September 25 for our next 2 meetings. The CD series is very user friendly and has a lot to offer to people at all levels of Photoshop usage.
· Historian: Joanne Snavely & Art Thompson will be meeting with John Kroll to get our Historical archiving project underway. Anyone interested in helping should contact Joanne.
·
Updated Membership lists – Pontiac, Avon, Grosse
Pointe, Windsor and West Oakland membership lists have been received. All other clubs, please email to Kathy Bolio
at wbolio@bignet.net or bring a hard
copy to the September GDCCC meeting.
·
International Salon – The auditorium is being renovated at Oakwood Hospital, so we will need
to rearrange some of the judging.
Joanne Snavely is checking out what the possibilities for adjustment
are.
·
Virtual Salon – Dennis Sauvé has reviewed the software and found it would need to be
massaged for GDCCC competition. There
would need to be a test site to see how adjustments could be made. The project is too involved to allow for
incorporation with this year’s International Salon. We will need to have precise determinations of how files are
supposed to be sent to avoid problems with color spaces. Very possibly we could have this in place
for next year. We will need to test
across PC and MacIntosh formats due to differences in files. Dennis to work with John Kroll for setting
up website & email for reception of entries. We will also need to set up a payment service such as
PayPal. Bill Buchanan should have some
more information on the process from the Florida virtual salon he participated
in.
·
Adray Photorama – May 14-16. Finalizing volunteers to work the Council
booth letting people know about the clubs.
Adray providing slide projector. Be sure to bring slides for showing.
New Business:
· Council competitions – It was determined that any club that entered a competition and did not win any ribbons could not claim that competition as a skip.
· Film & Equipment sales –
o F Stop Camera Shop at Grand River & Haggerty is having a sale on its slide film.
o Photorama – check the website for sales coming up in surrounding areas.
Next Meeting: Thursday, September 16, 2004
Meeting adjourned at 8:28 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Kathy Bolio, GDCCC Secretary
