MINUTES: GDCCC GENERAL BOARD MEETING

DATE: May 18, 2000

MEETING PLACE: MOODY-WILLIAMS PRINTING COMPANY

The President, Bill Buchanan, called the meeting to order at 7:32 p.m. There were 4 officers, 3 directors and 11 delegates present (2 of those 11 delegates were also officers or directors).

• Treasurer's Report

Officer's Report:

• Secretary: The minutes from the April 19^th meeting were reviewed and approved.
• Treasurer: The Treasurer's Report was accepted as presented.

Director's Reports:

• Print: The next competition will be September 20^th at Shutterbug.
• Color Slide: The next competitions will be September 28^th at West Oakland and October 18 at Shutterbug.
• Nature Slide: The next competition will be September 25^th at Motor City.
• 2¼ Slide: The next competitions will be September 28^th at West Oakland, October 18 at Shutterbug and November 9 at Livonia. Art brought in a projector that holds 7 slides. Judy will try it out as a possible replacement for the current projector.
• Electronic Imaging: The next competition will be September 25^th at Motor City. There are more prints entered every competition but slide entries are still low.
• Newsletter: The current issue was dropped off tonight for printing. The next issue is planned for mid-August to be delivered around September 1^st.

2000 Slide Invitational:

• All materials have been distributed.
• Next year's Slide Invitational is to be hosted by The Photo Guild.

Old Business:

• Detroit International Salon: Entry forms have been mailed to the combined PSA U.S. list and last year's entries. Entry forms will also be available at the Adray Show. John Slocum made a motion that ads be solicited for this year's book similar to those in sample books Andy brought. Judy Yaker seconded and the motion was passed. Prices for advertising were set at $100 for a full page, $65 for ½ page and $35 for 1/4 page. Possible sponsors will be contacted by the following people: Mamiya and Camera Mart - Judy, Adray's - Susan, Canadian - Skip, RMF - Bill, Kodak - Anita.
• Adray Show: The volunteer schedule for GDCCC's table is full for Friday, May 19^th through Sunday, May 21^st. The GDCCC brochure is also ready.
• New score box system: The score boxes were ordered 2 weeks ago and should be delivered soon. The cost per unit is $200, discounted from $220.

New Business:

• GDCCC web site: Questions were asked about what is available on the club web site and how easy it is to find and access for people who don't already know about it. Judy made the suggestion that GDCCC get its own domain name. It was noted that Windsor has a nice new web site and that it might be good for GDCCC to consider something similar. Bill Buchanan formed a web site committee to explore the possibilities of a new site and domain name. Members are John Kroll, Frank Andreae, and Howard Parsons. They will try to meet by early July. Judy made the proposal that GDCCC establish its own domain name. Norm Walker seconded and the motion was carried. Art made a motion to allow up to $150 to secure the domain name. Seconded by Anita, motion carried.

• Tuesday, October 24^th at 7:30 p.m.
