Minutes:            GDCCC GENERAL BOARD MEETING

Date:                June 6, 2007

Meeting Place:  Judy Yaker’s home

 

President Mike Florian called the meeting to order at 7:33 pm. There were 4 officers, 5 directors, and 5 representatives present.

 

Handouts:

·         Minutes from April 24, 2007 meeting

 

Officers’ Report:

·         Secretary:   Minutes from the April 24, 2007 meeting were accepted and approved with the change that Anita called the meeting to order, not Mike.

·         Treasurer:    Current balance is $13, 446.03.

 

Directors’ Report:

·         Prints:

The next competition is October 9th at Windsor.  Judging starts at 8:00 PM.

·         Color Slide:

The next competition is September 27th at West Oakland.  Judging starts at 7:30 PM.

·         Nature Slides:

The next competition is September 27th at West Oakland.  Judging starts at 7:30 PM.

·         Digital Projection:

The next competition is September 24th at Photo Guild.  Judging starts at 8:00 PM.

·         Web site:

Dennis is working on entering files via a web page instead of as attachments.

 

Old Business:

·         Salon: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM September 22nd

-          Letters were sent to division directors (PSA) because of score changes last year.  (Entry cards were changed, but the entry forms that Judy types the records from were not.)

-          We’re looking into using the Waterford Community Center (where PPS meets) as the location for this year’s judging.  We need 4 rooms.

·         Detroit Digital PSA Salon – April 19, 2008

-          We’d get special recognition medals from PSA

-          There are 6 other PSA Digital competitions in April 2008

-          The entry cost of other salons will be reviewed to determine what we will charge.

-          We need to plan to get our information to the PSA Journal in September

-          We need to plan for a trial web page in September (test filling in entry forms and submitting entry files…)

 

New Business:

·         We have a vacancy in one of the Director-at-Large positions to fill.  (Linda Henderson resigned from the 1st Vice-President office.  Larry Diggs volunteered to replace her.  Larry’s Director-at-Large position needs to be filled.)

 

Next meeting: Thursday, August 30, 2007 (at Judy Yaker’s home).
