interfere with fall color.

Andy Wimms emailed clubs for contributions for medals
similar to previous year. Also they are
looking for individuals and clubs to sponsor medals.

Future Seminar Ideas: Eastman Kodak Cybershot Program
One
day model/location shoot
We need to offer more photographic shooting opportunities to increase value to
our members. We need to explore ways to
get better involvement from club members.
One possibility is a survey of wants and talents or areas of expertise.
Old Business:
· Financial Committee:. Still reviewing methods to generate enough funds to keep GDCCC solvent. Majority of responses favored raising dues. Also reviewing other cost saving ideas such as using medals vs. trophies for year-end competition.
·
Proposal: - To modify the annual GDCCC Nature
Slide & Color Slide Invitations Competition - Due to low attendance at this
meeting it was decided to delay the vote until next meeting and ensure that all
members take back to their clubs for approval.
Proposal Wording: Modify the
annual GDCCC Nature Slide & Color Slide Invitational Competition such that
it becomes a 7th Inter-club Competition, where:
· Options for Discussion:
o Hold the invitational in late May or June to avoid the normal Inter-club Competitions( January, February and April for Nature Slides and February, March, and April for color slides).
o Give special awards, such as those given in the Detroit International Salon of Photography, Best Michigan Wildflower, Judges Choice, Best Fishing Photo, etc.).
o Open up the Invitational to all of the Print Divisions and the 2 ¼ Slide Division too (That could be a lot more $2 entry fees received…)
New Business:
·
Nominations:
o
GDCCC Honorees must be identified. Bill Buchanan to contact presidents of all
the clubs to generate nominations.
o
GDCCC Election of officers. Nominees must be located for offices of President (Bill Buchanan has
served his term limit), First VP, Treasurer.
Candidates will be reviewed by committee
·
Competition Dates for 2003 – Mike Florian Grosse
Pointe Camera Club to determine schedule.
·
GDCCC Awards Banquet – to be held by Motor City
·
F-Stop is including the Camera Club brochure in all their photography
class packets this may help generate new members for our clubs. We reviewed possibility of including class
information on our website.
Next Meeting: Scheduled for Monday, October 14th.
Meeting adjourned at 8:47 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Kathy Bolio, GDCCC Secretary
