Minutes:            GDCCC GENERAL BOARD MEETING

Date:                August 30, 2007

Meeting Place:  Judy Yaker’s home

 

President Mike Florian called the meeting to order at 7:35 pm. There were 5 officers, 3 directors, and 8 representatives present.

 

Handouts:

·         Minutes from June 6, 2007 meeting

 

Officers’ Report:

·         Secretary:   Minutes from the June 6, 2007 meeting were accepted and approved.

·         Treasurer:    No activity.  Salon medals will be paid for soon.  There will be DISP room charges and lunch costs, with Salon money coming in, too.

 

Directors’ Report:

·         Prints:

The next competition is October 9th at Windsor.  Judging starts at 8:00 PM.  Mike Lillis is the new Photo Guild Print Director.

·         Color Slide:

The next competition is September 27th at West Oakland.  Judging starts at 7:30 PM.

·         Nature Slides:

The next competition is September 27th at West Oakland.  Judging starts at 7:30 PM.

·         Digital Projection:

The next competition is September 24th at Photo Guild.  Judging starts at 8:00 PM.

·         Web site:

No news.  Dennis wasn’t present.

 

Old Business:

·         Salon: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM Saturday, September 22nd at the Waterford Community Center (where PPS meets)

-          Ron is currently meeting with Jim Inkster about the Salon Color Slide division.

-          A note was sent to the division chairperson’s to remind their helpers.  A map was included.

-          A note was sent to the judges to remind them.

-          We’ll use the PPS screen for CS.

-          We’ll use G.W. Buchanan’s screen for NS.

-          We’ll use the PPS print box.

-          We will need to cover the windows.

-          Bev Wolf will make a list of local restaurants.

-          Mike will send a note to Ron to remind him about the screens and that the windows need to be covered.

-          We must be out of the building by 4:00 PM or they’ll charge extra for cleanup.

·         Digital (PSA) Salon: Dennis is having “technical problems”, but is trying to be ready for a September test.

 

New Business:

·         Mike appointed Bev Wolf to the Director-at-Large vacancy.  (Linda Henderson resigned from the 1st Vice-President office.  Larry Diggs volunteered to replace her.  Larry’s Director-at-Large position needed to be filled.)

·         Canada Passport status – the Government delayed their deadline because the Passport Agency is so far behind.  We’ll need a picture ID (like a driver’s license) plus a Birth Certificate or Voter’s Registration card to prove citizenship.

 

Next meeting: Monday, October 29, 2007 (at Judy Yaker’s home).
