Minutes: GDCCC GENERAL BOARD MEETING

Date:       October 29, 2003

Meeting Place: Moody-Williams Printing Company

 

The President, Art Thompson, called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm.  There were officers, directors and representatives present.

 

Handouts:  

·         Minutes 9/9/03 GDCCC Meeting

 

Officers’ Report:

·         Secretary: Minutes 9/9/03 meeting read and accepted.

·         Treasurer: $10,050.60 currently in treasury.

 

Directors’ Report:

·         Print – Print comp. 11/03 at Pontiac-bring E.O.Y. prints to judge.  – Judging will be 11/14/03 (Judy Yaker is taking care of it)

·         Color Slide – E.O.Y judging not yet scheduled.

·         Nature – Last nature competition will be 11/20 at Avon-bring E.O.Y. slides

·         2 ¼ Slides – See Color Slide above

·         Newsletter  - The printed newsletter will be dropped next year due to low number of subscriptions.  Schedule dates and competition results will be kept up-to-date on the website.  People without web access can get printed copies from other members of the GDCCC or from their own clubs. Anyone volunteering to take over the printed version please contact John Kroll.

·         Website–John Kroll stated the website is current

 

Old Business:

·         End of Year Banquet – Pat Coleman said all clubs have their banquet tickets as of 10/29/03 and the Honorary Member invitations will be mailed 11/1/03.

·         David Middleton – Anita Weiner stated there would be no paper tickets issued for the David Middleton Seminar 12/6/03.  Confirmations would be shipped by email with a list maintained at the door for all those without email.  Volunteers are needed the day of the seminar.  Please contact Anita Weiner if you are able to help.

·         International Salon – Andy Wims said there would not be a virtual salon next year but is hopeful we will have it set up for the following year.

 

New Business:

·         Election of Officers – Next meeting we will need to elect 4 new officers – Secretary, 2nd Vice President and 2 directors.

·         Competition Schedule – Mike Florian handed out the proposed competition schedule for the next GDCCC season.  He requested that clubs get back to him if there is a problem.

·         GDCCC Bylaws – Loretta Williams requested removal of the stipulation that “wildflowers” could not be entered in General (color slide) competition.  This motion was seconded and will be voted on at the next meeting.

·         Honors Candidates – They will be voted on at this meeting.

·         Thank You – To Alex Lane for taking notes during the secretary’s vacation.
