MINUTES: GDCCC GENERAL BOARD MEETING
DATE: December 5, 2001
MEETING PLACE: MOODY-WILLIAMS PRINTING COMPANY
The
President, Bill Buchanan, called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. There were 4
officers, 6 directors and 12 representatives present (1 of those 12
representatives was also an officer or director).

Officer's Report:
•
Secretary: The
minutes from the November 1, 2001 meeting were reviewed and approved.
•
Treasurer: The
Treasurer reported a balance of $1,361.76 after the purchase of ribbons and the
deposit for the banquet.
Director's Reports:
•
Print (including Digital): Judy,
Loretta, Anita and Ellie took the End-of-Year prints, 2 1/4 slides and color
slides to Chicago to be judged. The next competition is Monday, March 25 at
Photo Guild.
•
Color Slide, 2¼ Slide and Digital Slide: Next
competition is Thursday, February 21 at Avon.
•
Nature Slide: End-of-year slides have
not been judged yet but will be soon. Next competition is Tuesday, January 22
at Grosse Pointe.
•
Newsletter: The next issue will be
mailed early next week.
•
Web Site: International Salon Catalogue and
winners are available on the web site. The past 4 issues of the newsletter have
also been posted.
2001 International Salon:
•
All materials for the 2001 International Salon have been
returned to the entrants. The date for next year's salon is September 22 with a
closing date for entries of September 16. Andrew Wims is the General Chairman.
Other chairmen are: Print Division - Jim Paszkiewicz, Color Slide Division -
Jim Inkster, Nature Division - Bill Glaspie, and Stereo Division - Richard and
Freda Cass. Joanne Snavley will handle entry form requests again. Print and
Stereo Divisions will not change; however, Color Division will add a section to
be called "Creative Color Slides" and Nature Division will drop
"Nature Prints" and add "Authenticated Wildlife".

Darrell Gulin: The seminar is set for May
18 & 19, 2002 at the Southfield Civic Center Room. More names have been
added to the mailing list. A flier should be ready by the end of the month.
Old Business:
•
2002 Banquet: Livonia is hosting the
banquet to be held January 26, 2002 at Corsi Banquet Hall, 27910 W. 7 Mile
Road, Livonia. Ticket were distributed to clubs tonight. Price is $22.00 per
ticket. Reservations are due no later than January 19, 2002. The deposit for
the hall has been paid. Solicitation for donations is under way. Club
presidents and representatives need to encourage club members to attend and
support GDCCC.
•
Honors Committee: The
committee will vote following immediately after tonight's meeting. Voting
representatives from Livonia, Shutterbug, West Oakland, Windsor, Avon and
Grosse Pointe must be a club president, a GDCCC associate or fellow.
•
Current Addresses: Thank
you for turning in your club member lists including email addresses if
available. If you haven't turned in your list, please email them to Diane at Jkroll@bignet.net.
•
Election of Officers: A motion
was made and seconded to accept nominations as follows: Second Vice President:
Mike Florian; Secretary: Kathy Bolio; Director-at-Large: Joanne Snavely, Jim
Paszkiewicz. All nominated were elected.

New Business:
•
There was discussion about changing the membership fees for
council since costs for ribbons, medals, etc. have risen but membership fees
haven't. Bill Buchanan set us a committee to look at finances. Chairman - Bill
Buchanan, Members - Loretta Williams, Judy Yaker and Anita Weiner.
•
There was discussion about publishing a brochure to help new
club presidents and representative explain the benefits of belonging to GDCCC
to their clubs. There was no action taken.
